Marriage License Planning
If you are an Indiana resident, your marriage license is generally obtained in the Indiana county where one of you resides, and the ceremony can take place anywhere in Indiana. Out-of-state couples marrying in Brown County apply through the Brown County Clerk. Brown County currently states that licenses are valid for 60 days. Always confirm current requirements with the appropriate county clerk before your wedding.
Brown County Ceremonies can perform your ceremony and complete the officiant portion of your marriage license, but obtaining the license itself is the couple's responsibility.
